Tests were performed on patients in the final stage of the disease

Tests of potentially revolutionary cancer therapy showed "remarkable" "results in patients. The survey revealed that the symptoms for more than 90 percent of patients with a severe form of leukemia were completely gone.
Four of the five patients with another type of blood cancer responded positively to the treatment, and more than half no longer had any symptoms. Scientist Stanley Riddell from the Fred Hutchinson Research Center in Seattle, said the test was conducted on patients where the remaining two to five months.
Results of unprecedented wealth
"This is excellent news," said Riddell, adding that these results in these patients, "unprecedented in medicine." The technique of treatment involves the removal of immune cells (T-cells) which added "receptor" molecules aimed at cancer. The immune cells are infused back into the patient's body. When these molecules are linked to the immune cells they reduce the ability of cancer to protect the natural immune system.
Riddell said that there is still a lot of work and that it is not known how long patients remain in remission. He hopes to try the therapy on patients suffering from cancer with solid tumors.
Riddell the research was conducted on approximately 35 patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The gradual remission entered the 94 percent of patients. What you are in remission does not mean you are cured, because the symptoms can return, reports Sky News.
The high percentage of positive responses of patients
In the other two studies involving 40 patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia more than 80 percent of patients responded to treatment, while about half of the patients remained in complete remission for up to 18 months, writes the Independent.
Cancer Specialists called for caution in the early tests therapy T-cells. They say she did not work in all patients and are caused by some toxic side reactions and that they died.
