Fourteen new F / A-18 E / F Super Hornet for the US Navy are high on the list of 31 entries left out of the Pentagon budget, for the fiscal year 2017, last month. The Congress, which requires the list after having approved the main financial instrument, automatically decides what to finance further, by inserting additional sums or ignoring requests.
In addition to hunting, the US Navy would like funds to another destroyer and two more F-35C. Specifically, the Navy asks $ 1.54 billion to buy 14 Super Hornet. The move, if funded, could give new life to the Hornet line, should fade the agreement with Kuwait. The US Navy has already obtained funding for two F / A-18 budget in 2017. In the fiscal instrument for 2018 should have funded more 14. The supplementary funding would provide thirty new Hornet in two years.
Among the 31 entries from nell'Unfunded Requirements List (URL) not proposed by the Pentagon to Congress, we find requests for additional funds for electronic warfare systems, torpedoes Mark 54, AIM-9X missiles and JDAM. The funds would also be allocated to the Navy LCS (Littoral Combat Ship, from coastal combat ship, ed), restore the budget to repair the cruiser Chancellorsville after an accident in November 2013. In the URL of the Navy also calls for four new landing craft air-cushioned, additional aircraft and surface targets, two Boeing C-40 and a new rescue tug.
The US Navy, finally, calls for an extra budget for the construction of a service dock for Seawolf-class submarines and a new wastewater treatment plant at Mayport, Florida.
