Erdogan Finally Apologizes to Putin Over Death of Russian Pilots

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan apologized Vladimir Putin over the death of Russian pilots released from the Kremlin.

Putin received a letter from Erdogan, in which he apologized for the death of Russian pilots, when a Russian jet shot down the Syrian-Turkish border in November.

Erdogan in the letter and expressed a willingness to renew relations between Ankara and Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"The head of the Turkish state, expressed his deepest condolences and regret the family of the killed pilot and apologized," said Paskov.

In his letter, Erdogan has called Russia "a friend and strategic partner," Ankara, stating that Turkey has never had the intention to demolish the Russian plane.

Turkish president added that the ongoing investigation against a Turkish national who was "linked to the deaths of the Russian pilots".

Recall, on 24 November near the border of Turkey and Syria, Turkish forces demolished the Russian plane.

Pilot Oleg Peshkov was killed in gunfire from the ground as he descended by parachute after the ejection of the affected aircraft.

The incident caused a huge international scandal and led to a serious worsening of relations between Moscow and Ankara and drastic sanctions, which Russia has introduced Turkey.

Due to the incident seriously began to suffer and the Turkish economy, which is a big ceo of its products exported to the huge Russian market, as well as tourism to the victims, because there were guests from Russia were among the favorite guests on the Turkish coast.
