A McDonald’s Employee Fired After Tweeting Photo of Grime Covered Ice Cream Machine

Source: Truth Theory | by Jess Murray

An ex-employee of McDonald's has claimed that he was fired after he posted a graphic photo of the inside of the fast food restaurant's ice cream machine where he worked in Louisiana. He posted the photo that he took on his Twitter account, where the shocking content caused the image to rapidly go viral, together with stirring up a lot of negativity against McDonald's.
This came out of McDonald's ice cream machine in case y'all were wondering…— nick (@phuckyounick) July 14, 2017
The story was originally published by the Huffington Post, who have referred to the former employee of McDonald's as 'Nick'. The photo was of the ice cream machine's drip tray, which can be seen covered in a dirty and sticky substance. Nick told the Huffington Post that the store managers are supposed to clean it, but he never saw them do it during the period that he worked there, which was from March until recently.

The image has already been covered by a number of major publications, including Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan, as well as being retweeted over 13,000 times and receiving over 15,000 likes.

After Nick posted his tweet, more McDonald's employees felt encouraged to share their own stories of the sights that they had seen whilst working in the restaurant.
shit so nasty and old it's tearing the plastic up lmao— mariana cooper (@marianadanely_) July 16, 2017
this is behind the grill. had to be lowkey w my pic even so my manger saw me & told me not to post it. lol yeet.— boyz n motion stan (@christineerreip) July 16, 2017
Nick also went further with the Huffington Post, telling them that there were a number of other sanitary issues that he witnessed whilst working there, stating, "Sometimes my coworkers would drop the food and put it back on the bun. I've seen it happen several times." In addition to this, he also shared more images on Twitter of the McDonald's food whilst it is still frozen, stating, "Since I'm exposing McDonald's I might as well show y'all what y'all really eating… fresh out the freezer."

Whilst McDonald's maintains their statement that their hamburgers are 100% beef, Nick posted another tweet saying, "I mean it's no surprise that it's frozen but this shit isn't even real meat or fish".

Mcdonald's did not respond to the Huffington Post's request to comment on the initial viral image, although the corporation is not directly in charge of the operations in all restaurants due to the many franchise locations. This caused the Huffington Post to conclude, "isolated or not, the incident will certainly make us think twice before our next bite on the town."
